Powell, Ohio Realtor Nathan White
Powell sits in southern Delaware County, about 14 miles north of downtown Columbus, between the Scioto and Olentangy Rivers, with Dublin right below it. I've sold real estate in central Ohio since 2014, more than 500 homes so far, and in 2026 RealTrends verified me as the #1 agent in Plain City by volume and sides.
The city itself is about 14,000 people. The 43065 zip code covers a lot more ground than that, and the difference shows up in your taxes, so I'll get to it below. These are the parts of Powell people ask me about most.
The neighborhoods, the way I'd explain them
Downtown Powell grew up around the Four Corners, where Olentangy Street (State Route 750) meets Liberty Street. The homes are older and the lots are smaller, but you can walk to dinner and to Village Green Park, home of the splash pad and the Powell Festival every June. Fair warning, the Four Corners backs up at rush hour, and the city has spent years on plans to move traffic around it.
Golf Village is built around Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club, a private club with an Arthur Hills course, tennis and a pool. You'll find big homes on wooded lots, some backing up to the course, and condos for anyone who wants less yard to deal with.
Wedgewood is really five neighborhoods: Wedgewood, Wedgewood Hills, Wedgewood Glen, Wedgewood Park, and Wedgewood Park Estates. The original Wedgewood went up mostly in the late 1990s and early 2000s around Wedgewood Golf and Country Club, with mature trees and bigger lots. Here's the catch. Wedgewood Hills and Wedgewood Glen sit on the Franklin County side and go to Dublin City Schools, while the rest are in Delaware County and Olentangy. Same name, different county, different schools.
Scioto Reserve is off Home Road toward the Scioto River, built around Scioto Reserve Country Club, a private club that opened in 2001 with an 18 hole course and a pool. Most of the homes went up between 2000 and 2014, and the HOA keeps a tight standard on how things look.
Prices move every week, so I don't list them here. Ask me and I'll tell you what each neighborhood is actually selling for right now.
Two things nobody tells you
A Powell address doesn't mean the City of Powell. 43065 is a postal zone, not a city line. A big share of Powell addresses sit in Liberty Township, which is its own government. Even the Columbus Zoo has a Powell address and sits in the township. I check every house by parcel.
City limits change your taxes. Inside the City of Powell you pay a 2% city income tax, with credit for what you already pay where you work, so most commuters barely notice it. If you work from home or run your own business, you will. A Powell address out in the township doesn't carry that city income tax, but you'll still see township levies on your property tax bill. I'll pull the real numbers before you write an offer.

Powell FAQ
What county is Powell, Ohio in?
Delaware County, at the southern end. A few neighborhoods with Powell addresses near the county line, like Wedgewood Hills and Wedgewood Glen, are in Franklin County. The county changes your property tax rate, so it's worth knowing before you compare two houses.
What school district is Powell in?
Almost all of Powell is in Olentangy Local Schools, which covers about 95 square miles, mostly in Delaware County. Some Powell addresses near the south edge are in Dublin City Schools instead. I verify the district by parcel on every house I show.
Is Powell its own city?
Yes. Powell became a village in 1947 and a city in 2000. It sits inside Liberty Township, so city residents vote on township issues too.
Is the Columbus Zoo in Powell?
It has a Powell mailing address on Powell Road, but it sits in Liberty Township, outside the city limits. Plenty of homes work the same way, which is why I check before you buy.
How far is Powell from downtown Columbus?
About 20 to 25 minutes, depending on traffic and whether you take Sawmill Road or State Route 315. Dublin is right next door to the south.
Do you only work in Powell?
No. I live in Jerome Township, and I also sell in Plain City, Dublin, Marysville, Delaware, and Columbus. If you're deciding between Powell and Dublin, I'll walk you through how they stack up.
